David Gluckman summarises that the highlights and challenges of the past year not least the impacts of the ongoing Pandemic including more recently the Omicron Variant. He highlights some of the key developments since the launch of the Sanlam Umbrella Fund in 2008 and talks to the long term vision to continue to improve retirement fund outcomes for members harnessing market forces. The latest developments as regards retirement fund reform pressures, and the opportunities these create for 2022 are also covered. David also provides some interesting insights on the recent Sanlam – Alexander Forbes transaction and why this places the Sanlam Umbrella Fund in a very strong position for continued growth and successes. But mostly he expresses gratitude to our supporting consultants for all their hard work and support over the past year.
