This communication is to inform you that Mr Dawie de Villiers, the CEO of Sanlam Employee Benefits, has resigned from his position and will leave Sanlam at the end of October to pursue another growth opportunity within the industry.
Mr De Villiers, who has served in various positions since he joined Sanlam in 1993, will also step down as chairman of Simeka, an independent consulting business operating in the employee benefits industry.
We have appointed Ms Jocelyn Hathaway to act in the position of CEO until we can make a permanent appointment in the position. Ms Hathaway has been with Sanlam since 2011 and currently holds the position of head of finance and operations at Sanlam Corporate. She holds a B.Com degree as well as an MBA from the University of Cape Town and has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Over the years, Ms Hathaway has gained extensive exposure in asset management, life insurance, broker services, employee benefits and finance.
