Participating employers are urged to submit member claims to the Administrator within the timeframes set out in the policy. No benefit will be paid if the insurers are not notified of the claim within six months of the event (three months in the event of a trauma claim). Our administrator has recently received a disturbing amount of benefit claims well outside the above notification period, some as late as more than twelve months after the member’s date of disability/last working day. This could leave members destitute and expose employers to possible claims against them.
